They say that nothing in life is free, but paid software for the price of nothing is a pretty good deal. You see, every day, there are certain sites that offer quality software absolutely free—–but you have to download and register it on the date offered. A small inconvenience in exchange for something that could be useful to a translator.
I have been using giveaway software for many years now. Some programs are excellent, others are lacking, or overlap with applications that I already have. I am always keen on PDF management programs that convert, merge, split, remove passwords and that have OCR. I also like clipboard extenders and typing aids.
I'm not saying you have to download each and every program offered, but if you see something useful, it is much better than paying your hard-earned cash on it.
